Marketplace License

1. Scope

This Marketplace License applies to reusable website-building assets made available through RuledWeb, including assets published from free RuledWeb-hosted websites, assets intentionally submitted to the Marketplace, and other resources designated as reusable by RuledWeb or their creators.

2. Marketplace Assets

Marketplace assets may include non-content website-building resources such as:

• Styles and design systems.
• Components and reusable sections.
• Layouts and templates.
• Page structures and composition patterns.
• Reusable WDL definitions and related configuration.
• Other non-content resources designated as reusable through RuledWeb.

3. Creator Ownership

Creators retain ownership of their original marketplace assets to the extent they own those assets. By making an asset available through RuledWeb, the creator grants RuledWeb and eligible RuledWeb users the rights described in this Marketplace License. A creator must not submit or publish an asset for reuse unless they have the rights needed to do so.

4. License Granted to RuledWeb

By making a marketplace asset available through RuledWeb, you grant RuledWeb a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to use that asset for operation and development of the RuledWeb ecosystem.

• Host, store, reproduce, render, display, and distribute the asset.
• Modify, adapt, transform, and create technical variants required for compatibility, rendering, discovery, previews, recommendations, or marketplace presentation.
• Include the asset in marketplace listings, libraries, examples, templates, recommendations, AI-assisted authoring, and other RuledWeb features.
• Permit other RuledWeb users to access, copy, reuse, modify, and publish the asset under this Marketplace License or another applicable marketplace license.
• Continue exercising previously granted rights even if the creator later removes the source website or marketplace listing, subject to applicable law.

5. License Granted to Marketplace Users

Unless a marketplace listing states different terms, a user who lawfully obtains a marketplace asset may:

• Use the asset in personal, commercial, client, and organizational websites created through RuledWeb.
• Copy and modify the asset for use in their own websites.
• Combine the asset with their own content, styles, components, layouts, and other marketplace assets.
• Publish websites containing the asset on RuledWeb-hosted subdomains or supported custom domains.
• Continue using a lawfully obtained asset if the original listing is later removed, subject to the license terms that applied when the asset was obtained.

6. Restrictions

Unless RuledWeb or the applicable creator expressly permits it, you may not:

• Claim ownership of the original marketplace asset or falsely represent yourself as its original creator.
• Use another creator's trademarks, logos, business identity, photographs, editorial content, personal data, or other excluded content merely because those materials appeared in a marketplace preview or source website.
• Use an asset in a way that violates applicable law, the RuledWeb Terms & Conditions, or the Acceptable Use Policy.
• Circumvent technical restrictions, licensing controls, access rules, or paid marketplace conditions.
• Resell or redistribute a marketplace asset as a standalone competing asset where the applicable listing or license expressly prohibits standalone redistribution.

7. Content Not Automatically Included

Marketplace reuse rights for website-building assets do not automatically grant rights to the underlying business or editorial content used in a demonstration or published website.

• Business names, trademarks, logos, and brand identifiers.
• Personal information, customer data, form submissions, or private account information.
• Original articles, photographs, videos, illustrations, audio, or other editorial content unless separately licensed.
• Confidential or unpublished information.
• Third-party assets that are subject to separate licenses.

8. Free RuledWeb Websites

If you publish a website using free RuledWeb hosting on a RuledWeb-provided subdomain, reusable website-building assets authored for that site may be eligible for public discovery and reuse through RuledWeb. This may include styles, components, sections, layouts, templates, page structures, reusable WDL definitions, and similar construction assets, but does not automatically include protected business content or personal information.

9. Modifications and Derivative Assets

Marketplace users may modify permitted assets and combine them with other assets. Unless otherwise stated, modifications do not transfer ownership of the original asset to the modifying user. Users own only the original contributions they add, subject to the continuing rights attached to the underlying marketplace asset.

10. Continued Use After Removal

Removing an asset from the Marketplace or deleting the source website does not automatically revoke licenses already granted to users who lawfully obtained the asset while it was available. Those users may continue using the asset subject to the license terms that applied when they obtained it.

11. Marketplace Availability and Curation

RuledWeb may review, categorize, feature, rank, rename display labels, add metadata, restrict, suspend, or remove marketplace listings. RuledWeb does not guarantee continued availability, placement, discoverability, compatibility, popularity, or commercial performance of any marketplace asset.

12. Third-Party Rights

Creators and users are responsible for ensuring that assets they publish or use do not infringe third-party rights. Marketplace availability does not mean RuledWeb has independently verified ownership, originality, trademark clearance, copyright status, patent rights, or other permissions for every asset.

13. No Warranty

Marketplace assets are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. RuledWeb does not guarantee that an asset is error-free, secure, compatible with every website or environment, suitable for a particular purpose, or free from third-party claims.

14. Removal and Enforcement

RuledWeb may remove, restrict, disable, or suspend a marketplace asset where we reasonably believe it violates applicable law, the RuledWeb Terms & Conditions, the Acceptable Use Policy, this Marketplace License, third-party rights, or presents a material security, legal, or operational risk.

15. Relationship to Other RuledWeb Policies

This Marketplace License forms part of the RuledWeb legal framework and should be read together with the Terms & Conditions, Acceptable Use Policy, and Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to this License

RuledWeb may update this Marketplace License as marketplace functionality, asset types, licensing models, or legal requirements evolve. The current version will be published on this page with its latest update date.
